The 4th Asia-Pacific Congress was a success
The Asia-Pacific Congress of Persons with Disabilities is traditionally held every four years. The 4th Congress was held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and we declared our commitment to the inclusive development of people with disabilities. The congress, which opened yesterday, continued for the second day with a presentation on "Good Practices for Community-Based Development" and "Don't Leave Anyone Out," followed by a afternoon session. The Congress discussed 85 papers in sub-sessions on issues, solutions, opportunities and best practices in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and cooperation for the development of an inclusive society.
The Congress was closed by S. Chinzorig, Member of Parliament and Minister of Labor and Social Welfare. The 4th Asia-Pacific Congress of Persons with Disabilities convened in Ulaanbaatar to review the best practices and announce which Asian countries will host the 5th Congress. Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, head of the Asia-Pacific Community-Based Development Network, announced that the 5th Asia-Pacific Community-Based Development Congress for People with Disabilities is scheduled to take place in Cambodia in 2023. Thus, the 4th Congress ended as an event that raised Mongolia's prestige in Asia.
Goodbye Ulaanbaatar. Hello Cambodia.
